Symantec antivirus software
Bradley University students, faculty and staff computer systems
Bradley University students, faculty and staff are provided with a license for the corporate version of Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus protection for Mac OS and Windows at no charge.
You are encouraged to download Symantec EndPoint Antivirus for your University owned and personally owned Windows computers, and Symantec AntiVirus 10 for University owned and personally owned Macintosh systems running OS X (10.3-10.5.x). These applications are available free of charge for personal systems for as long as you remain at Bradley University. When you leave Bradley, you must remove this software from your computer.
EndPoint will automatically update Symantec AntiVirus versions 10 and above. We have created a quick and easy process for you to upgrade your system. Please follow the link at the bottom of this page to download and install the new version.
To find out how to determine the version of Symantec AntiVirus currently running on your Windows system, view this page. Those faculty and staff who are using versions of Symantec AntiVirus older than version 10 are to contact the Technology HelpDesk, (309) 677-2964 to open a trouble ticket to have the older version removed and the new one installed.
Students are to bring their computer to the Technology HelpDesk for assistance in removing older versions of Symantec AntiVirus or other antivirus applications if they wish to use the University's Symantec AntiVirus.
Why you should use Bradley University’s antivirus software?
- Most antivirus software has a cost. You pay for a license to use the software. Bradley University students, faculty and staff can download a legitimate version of Symantec AntiVirus for FREE. You must remove the software when you leave Bradley.
- Many new computers come with a trial version of antivirus software. This software will expire and your virus definitions will be out of date, leaving you open to attack from new viruses.
