Computing Services Microsoft Office Policy
Customer Support Services recommends and supports Microsoft Office (MS-Office)
for both PC and Macintosh systems on campus.* Following is information regarding the purchase and installation of Microsoft Office for university-owned and home computer systems. Please contact Dollie Bolson at extension 2947 with questions
about pricing or for ordering information. All hardware and software orders are to be placed through the Campus Computer Sales office in 127 Sisson Hall.
DESKTOP SYSTEMS: Each department is required to purchase a license forMicrosoft Office for each new machine. There is no installation fee on new machines, however there is a $20.00 fee for the installation of the program on an existing computer.
DEPARTMENT LABS: Software for departmental lab computers must be
purchased by the department at the license cost of $54.00 per copy (plus
$20.00 per copy if Customer Support Services installs the software). This cost is
for the software only, and does not include documentation or media. It is
recommended that one full copy of the software (approximately $180.00) be
purchased for each lab installation so that documentation and media are
readily available (one per lab, not one per computer within the lab).
Microsoft Office is available for personal purchase through Campus Computer Sales.
